We work systematically to reduce our food waste, water usage, chemicals, and energy use. Opus 16 also emphasizes the use of local suppliers.

À la carte breakfast
As a guest you will notice we serve our breakfast à la carte. We hope you enjoy it!
Many of the products are from local suppliers. Most of the bread from an ecological, local bakery, the eggs from a local farm in Fana and the bacon from a farm in Bergen.  After changing from the buffet solution we have reduced our food waste with more than 50%.

Recycling
All the waste at Opus 16 is sorted and recycled. We kindly urge you to help by using the bins in your hotel room.

Use of towels
If you want us to change your towels during your stay, leave them on the floor and the staff will provide clean towels. Your contribution by hanging up used towels is greatly appreciated.

Housekeeping
Are you staying two nights or more?
For those of you that want to go that extra mile and contribute more than expected, you can leave the “do not make up my room” sign on the outside of your door and we will reward you a free glass of aperitif in our lobby/bar. The staff will leave a voucher in your room upon noticing the sign.

Your contribution to the environment is less use of cleaning liquids (chemicals), mops and cloths, in addition to reducing water and energy usage.

Transport
The public transport to/from the airport runs frequently and seamless. The airport bus takes 20 minutes and is a three minute walk from Opus 16. If you have time, the light rail is comfortable, inexpensive and provides great sightseeing of Bergen and its surrounding areas to and from the airport. The end station is three blocks away from our main entrance.
